This is a list of the top food producing countries in WORLD.

10-TURKEY

Like other countries on the list, Turkey is trying to tackle the problem of food waste. Recently, Turkish agriculture minister ( Faruk Çelik) urged the people to stop throwing away food. Every year 1.3 million tons of food ends up in bins, and now the Turkish government is working hard to ensure they do something about that.

TURKEY also has one of the highest export growth rate in the world because agricultural export has tripled during last decade.

9-GERMANY

Interestingly, Germany strongly opposes genetically modified organisms (GMO), and earlier this year made a move to stop GMO crop cultivation.

As one of the highest developed countries in the world, it has been one of the largest meat consumers in the world; each year 60 kilograms of meat is consumed per person in Germany.

8-JAPAN

Japanese mostly consume rice and fish, but eat less meat compared to US and EU citizens. Food exports hit a record last year due to increase of 11.1 per cent, and were valued at 611.7 billion yen. Japan is also struggling with food waste since up to 23 million tons of food are thrown away annually. Cropproduction is vital to Japan despitelimited arable land and the highest degree of industrialization in Asia.

7-MEXICO

Mexico export 30% of their food to the Americans and America is rated as one of the main market of the Mexicans. The country export approximately (Sh 1 trillion) with annual agriculture production growth of 1.67 per cent.

6- FRANCE

France introduced a law to fight against food waste earlier this year. The country banned their supermarket from throwing away unsold food but give them to charity homes and through this, the country had been able to reduce food wastage.

FRANCE is among the top 20 pork and chicken producing countries and also among the top 10 milk producing countries.

5- RUSSIA

President Vladimir Putin banned food import from EU, US and other countries which have blamed him because of these crises because West imposed economic sanction to Russia and this made Russia involve in Ukraine crises. It is hard to translate the effects of these mutual sanction into money, but it is evident that Russian ban has created significant problems for EU farmers who don’t know what to do with food produced for Russian market.

4-INDIA

This country is world known as the second largest milk and rice producing country. Food wastage has been a solid problem in India because approximately 40% of the produced food ends in a bin.

3- BRAZIL

This country is among the top 5 milk, beef, pork producing countries in the world Brazil accounts for large share of its Gross Domestic Product because they are the 9^th largest economy in the world because of their agricultural growth

2- UNITED STATE

United Stat has hold up the largest meat consumer in the world per capital, and America are popularly known to throw away large amount of foods. This country is known to be the largest milk, beef chicken and pork producer in the world. In 2014 the country is popularly known as the largest agricultural exporter with the export of $110billion

1-CHINA

This country is popularly known as the top food producing country in the whole world. Don’t be surprised, because the country is the largest pork, chicken, milk, rice, beef producers in the world. This country is the 4^th largest agricultural produce exporter at $58 billion in dollars.
